Prediabetes, a state where blood glucose is higher than normal but not yet diabetic, serves as a warning sign. Early detection through regular screenings can help mitigate risks. While genetics play a role, lifestyle choices have a significant impact on blood sugar regulation.

Balancing diet, exercise, and weight management can improve insulin sensitivity and reduce diabetes risk. Monitoring blood sugar levels, especially for those with family history or other risk factors, is essential. However, it’s important to note that blood sugar variability is normal, and occasional spikes are not necessarily harmful. Long-term patterns, rather than single measurements, determine diabetes risk. Understanding these dynamics empowers individuals to make informed choices for metabolic health.
